The Centurion University is duly recognized as a pioneer in ‘Skill Integrated Higher Education”. Its unique model lays specific emphasis on creating sustainable livelihoods on a national scale in challenging geographies through education that results in employability and sparks entrepreneurship. This model has been recognized by multiple Governments (Central and State), International Organizations such as UNESCO and the World Bank as well as Policy Think-tanks such as the Niti Ayog. Centurion University’s School of Vocational Education and Training has been recognized as a Centre of Excellence by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. It is the only University in India to be recognized as such.
Since its inception in 2005 and subsequent recognition as a university in 2010 through the Odisha Legislative Assembly act, Centurion has created a unique environment that ensures a tailored learning and employability path for youth in some of the poorest and underserved geographies in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. The university’s main campus is at Paralakhemundi, Gajapati District of Odisha. The university has been accredited to NAAC A+ grade. The university offers undergraduate, post-graduate, and doctoral courses in various disciplines. At present, the university has different campuses (located at Paralakhemundi, Bhubaneswar, Rayagada, Balangir, Chatrapur, and Balasore) and several social entrepreneurial outreach that, along with collaborating institutions and networks, form its ecosystem. Its motto in “Shaping lives and empowering communities” from its inception. Centurion University is one of the state-private University in Odisha, having six campuses across Odisha and a constituent campus in Vijayanagaram, Andhra Pradesh. It is known for its skill development courses and academic excellence in the field of education. The University is different from other universities as it builds entrepreneurship, entrepreneurs and enterprise.The university has 24 research centres on niche areas and has 43 domain courses from its 15 schools and 110 skill courses which provide hands-on training to the students and make them market-ready.
The School of Management focuses on experiential, applied and action learning through projects, practice and production to foster a thriving start-up culture. Consistently reinventing management education, the school aims to create leaders who can navigate the evolving business landscape with a curriculum updated to meet the dynamic needs of industry, academia and entrepreneurship. Its student-centric pedagogy, project-based approach and design-driven curriculum emphasize initiative, innovation and risk-taking. Students gain hands-on experience in in-house production units such as Centurion Coffee Connect and Sky Rider Electric Vehicle Unit, enhancing their managerial and entrepreneurial skills. The school promotes human-centric skills, cooperation, empathy, social awareness, and global citizenship through extracurricular activities. Key strengths include experienced faculty, committed management, a flexible curriculum, digital content, skill-integrated programs and strong industry and academic linkages. Committed to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the school of management assigns students to nearby villages for holistic development and collaborates with civil society for practice-based teaching and internships. Supported by the National Skill Development Corporation, the school has trained over 70,000 farmers to double their incomes and partnered with FICCI-FLO to promote women’s entrepreneurship. The Urban Micro Business Centre operates as an action-learning lab and the Centre for Commercialization of Innovations and Enterprises is steered by the School of Management, which also promotes inclusivity and conducts awareness campaigns on climate change, water and sanitation, waste management and alternative energy use.

ORSI was established in 1957 as a dedicated platform for Operational Research Scientists. Its primary objective was to broaden their perspectives by fostering the exchange of knowledge and the application of techniques beyond national boundaries. Affiliated with the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS), the society’s headquarters are located in Kolkata, at 39, Mahanirvan Road, Kolkata 700029, India. ORSI publishes the quarterly journal OPSEARCH, recognized for its high-quality papers in Operational Research. The journal boasts a wide readership across academia, industry, and service sectors, both within India and abroad. Since 1973, the Society has conducted the Graduate Diploma in Operational Research examination. ORSI has 17 local chapters, including the esteemed Bhubaneswar Chapter, recognized as best chapter, twice for its outstanding academic activities.
